NEWA Exhibition

I went to view the NEWA exhibition yesterday (22nd July).  As usual, it is an excellent exhibition with nearly 400 entries.  CP and graphite pencil are all well represented (I counted 13 coloured pencil works).

 In particular, it is nice to see that of the 24 pictures featured in the printed catalogue, 3 are colour pencil (including Bev Lewis's 'King of the Reef' - well done Bev!).

 

Well done also to Kris Owen, and Jo Goudie --  all your entries look much better when seen in real life.

The exhibition is on til Sunday 4th August, at Gordale Nursery, Chester High Road, Burton, Wirral, CH64 8TF.

Members in Local exhibitions

Margaret Orchard, a UKCPS member in Norfolk (the English one - not the one in Virginia!) has some pictures going into local exhibitions.  If other members have pictures going into exhibition then let me know some details and I can give you a mention - especially if you get a big CP sale or win an award!

I have entered 13 Graphite and Coloured Pencil pictures to two separate exhibitions in Norfolk this coming weekend - one in Great Ellingham where the exhibition is held in the local church as part of Great Ellingham's Teddy Bear Festival and another in Thompson where there is an Art Exhibition in St. Martin's Church. Normally I struggle to find pieces when asked if I have any to exhibit but since taking up coloured pencil work I was spoilt for choice!

UKCPS Open Exhibition entries -- No 2

The full list of successful entries is being published on the UKCPS website: www.ukcps.co.uk , but for those of you who have entered, but not been successful, I offer the following message from our President, Pat Heffer:

Dear All,

Many congratulations to everyone who has had work accepted for the  Patchings exhibition. I wish I was one of you, but unfortunately neither of my  pictures was accepted, which although of course is most disappointing, has made  me focus on doing even better work for our 2014 exhibition, as there is  always room for improvement.

 Is anyone else in the same position?

 If so, my  advice is concentrate hard on next year's exhibition when there will be a  different set of judges, and you will come up with some even more fantastic entries. Do not give up!
 I certainly will not.

 I have already been out in the garden taking photos for my absolutely brilliant entry for next year!!

UKCPS Open Exhibition - entries

The results of the judging for entries to the forthcoming UKCPS Open Exhibition (1st September to 6 October 2013) at Patchings Art Centre, Calverton, Near Nottingham, are being announced.

Successful artists will be notified by email (or post), so my congratulations if you have had pictures selected.  The notification will include the instructions for getting your picture/s to and from the site, so please read them carefully!
