Lin Goodwin - Painters Online

It's always nice to get good news about members achievements.

This from Lin Goodwin:

I know you like to let people know when CP has been given some notice.

Well last month I decided to upload some of my work to the Painters Online gallery for 'The Artist' magazine.

Each month they pick a selection as 'pictures of the month'. I don't know if these go into either of their magazines, but they are anchored to the front page of the gallery on their website. They also archive them each month.

TWO of my paintings have been selected. One is Oil Pastel (another minority medium) But the portrait of Miss Patty's enigmatic smile is done in  Pure Coloured pencils.

I'm happy to fly the flag for Coloured Pencils.

This is actually an older piece, but it was one of the one's in my exhibition last year

Caran D'Ache 'museum aquarelle' competition

I was very pleased to learn that three of our members (Beverley Courtney, Suzi Herbert, and Tiffany Budd) had managed to get into the final 15 of the competition organised by Caran D'Ache  to launch their new 'Museum' range of watercolour pencils.

So even more congratulations to Tiffany who has been chosen for the final three :-

Says Tiffany -

I'm totally thrilled to say I'm in the final 3!!!!
I've been invited to go to the Mall Galleries in the 22nd Oct for a cocktail reception and award ceremony.
Very very chuffed.

Pauline Longley is co-ordinating, and wants a list of volunteer artists willing to demonstrate during the exhibition:-

If you would like to demonstrate at the RBSA while our exhibition is on please let me know ASAP.  The dates are Saturday 3rd and10th May 11-1 and 2-4pm.  We can have more than one demonstrator at a time.  You don't need to be a professional artist and you are not expected to talk in front of a group of people just chat to visitors about your work and the society.  First come first served.

Caran d'ache 'Museum' Aquarelle competition

A number of UKCPS members will have entered pictures into the Caran D'Ache 'Museum' drawing competition, which was set up to celebrate the launch of their new 'Museum' aquarelle pencils.

My thanks then to Judith Crown for this:-

Hi everyone

I was just looking to see if there was any update to the competition and found the link to the pictures.  Quite a few of us have entered.  There are about 200 pictures

To save people time,  Suzy Herbert's picture is a new one and is different to the Lemon picture  entered in  the UKCPS exhbition.. ( It took me a few minutes to find it)  The lemons drawn with the new Museum are on the same plate, but are different lemons!

Good luck to all UKCPS entries!
